Literally: To be in the cabbages
Example: “Na clase de matemáticas sempre estou nas verzas.” — In math class I always have my head in the clouds.
English equivalent: To have one's head in the clouds
Origin: Verzas are cabbages, and being among the cabbages is being lost in one's thoughts, far from what is going on. Spanish says estar en Babia in the same sense. The Galician phrase has no particular story behind it.
