Judge not, lest ye be judged

Meaning: We should refrain from judging others because we ourselves are imperfect.

Origin: Biblical proverb from Matthew 7:1, one of the most universally quoted moral teachings.

Translations

  • French: Ne juge pas, afin de ne pas être jugé (literally: Do not judge, so as not to be judged)
  • Spanish: No juzgues, para que no seas juzgado (literally: Do not judge, so that you are not judged)
  • Japanese: 裁くな、裁かれないために (Sabaku na, sabakarenai tame ni) (literally: Do not judge, so that you will not be judged)
