Origin: Spain, colloquial. In Spanish slang teta (breast) is also used to mean "great," in the same family as pasarlo bomba (to have a bomb of a time) and pasarlo pipa, where other words simply came to mean "terrific." How teta took on that sense is not documented; the idea that it recalls the comfort of nursing is a guess.
